Yogaboarding Classes Increase In Jupiter And Throughout South Florida
By Editor • Dec 7th, 2010 • Category: newsYoga classes on stand-up paddleboards continue to increase in Jupiter, says instructor Cora Ciaffone. Ciaffone has taught yoga for 15 years and recently added classes on SUP boards.
Ciaffone’s classes take place in the Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve near Jupiter Outdoor Center. The boards present a stable platform for yoga exercises. And they can be floated to a scenic, serene setting.
“Yogaboarding itself is meditation in motion,” she said. “As we glide through the calm waters of (the) preserve, we take the time to breathe in nature and release our normal routines and overactive minds.”
“My 15 years of teaching land-based yoga provides challenges of strength, flexibility and inner stillness,” she continued. “Yogaboarding offers these challenges plus the liberating dimension of releasing our fears and doing the extraordinary. It connects us to our adventurous self and offers the privilege of seeing wildlife as we to savor the peace of nature’s playground.”
She added that her yogaboarding poses are safe for all levels of fitness.
Classes are on Thursdays at 6 p.m and on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. The cost of $20 includes all equipment and instruction. For more information, click here.

Similar yogaboarding classes are popping up throughout Palm Beach as well as in Broward and Miami-Dade.
