On Oct. 8 Miami’s City Commission approved a cycling master plan, a first for the city.
According to the Herald, “the blueprint is designed for gradual implementation over 20 years, as roads are resurfaced, and the needed work — mainly striping and signage — is relatively inexpensive. The aim is to have an interconnected network of designated routes for commuting and recreational cyclists covering much of the city.”
The plan also identified nearly 1,000 public locations across Miami for bike racks and sheltered bike parking.
