USA Water Ski’s 2009 GOODE Water Ski National Championships return to Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach from Aug. 11 to 15.

“We are thrilled that the Ski Club of the Palm Beaches will host the 2009 nationals,” Jim Grew, president of USA Water Ski and the American Water Ski Association, said in a statement. “The site is truly ideal for such an event and always draws great attention to the sport.”

More than 800 of the nation’s top water ski athletes will compete for titles in slalom, tricks and jumping.

“Palm Beach County and the Ski Club of the Palm Beaches designed this site with events like the nationals in mind,” said Charlotte Melchers, chairman of the 2009 nationals. “Five lakes and continuous skiing cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the U.S.”
