By Editor • May 16th, 2009 • Category: Uncategorized
Writing Earth: An Intro to Environmental Writing will be taught on Tuesdays from June 2 to July 7 at the Wolfson campus of Miami-Dade College.
In a six-week workshop held between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., participants will write and critique poems, stories and personal essays that take the natural world as their subject matter. In addition, they will learn to write in organic forms and to think in ways that attempt to capture something of the “inner life” of nature as it exists in South Florida and the larger North American landscape. Students will also examine examples of great nature writing.
Instructor Michael Hettich has published a number of books and chapbooks of poetry, including Flock and Shadow: New and Selected Poems (New Rivers Press) and Swimmer Dreams (Turning Point).
The fee is $125 and pre-registration is required. To sign up, visit FLCenterLitArts.com or call 305-237-3940.
