Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Susan G. Komen For The Cure for each person who test-drives a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle from now until June 1. According to Michelle Fonticiella of Miami PR firm Thorp & Company, the maximum donation will be $1 million.
More than 50 Florida Ford dealers vowed to double contributions to $40 for each local test drive.
The Susan G. Komen For The Cure is a national foundation that raises money for breast cancer research through activities such as running events. Ford Motor Company and its dealers have contributed more than $100 million to fight breast cancer during its 15-year partnership with the foundation.
“With the economy in crisis, it is remarkable and encouraging to know that Ford and its associates continue to support our foundation,” Bobbi Meyers, executive director of the foundation’s Miami/Fort Lauderdale affiliate, said in a statement. “We are honored that Ford is helping us in our vision of a world without breast cancer.”
