The ING Miami Marathon and Half Marathon as well as a 5K race to benefit the homeless are taking place on Sunday, Jan. 25. A health and fitness expo is on Friday and Saturday.

Online registration is closed with the race being almost sold out at 15,000 participatns. Registration reopens during the two-day expo at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

The marathon and half marathon start at the same time: 6:05 a.m. for wheelchair participants and 6:15 a.m. for runners. All participants need to be in the runner corrals no later than 5:55 a.m. At 7:30 a.m. starts the Tropical 5K Benefiting Community Partnership for Homeless.

The weekend expo, presented by The Miami Herald & El Nuevo Herald, features more than 100 exhibitors. According to promoters, it showcases “the latest trends, designs, and advances in running shoes and apparel. The expo will also include the latest in various sports, fitness, and nutrition. The expo is also an opportunity to learn more about the sponsors of the 2009 ING Miami Marathon. The best thing about the expo is that it is free and open to the public.”
The expo takes place from noon until 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday.
